WAYout in Prisons

WAYout now has a music studio and editing/photoshop training facility inside the male correctional centre funded by the Joe Strummer Foundation. We run sessions twice a week and prison staff report reduced stress and trouble from those taking part. It gives them the chance to learn something, gain confidence through creating and hope for the future on release as we encourage them to continue in WAYout when they get out.

On International Women’s Day we partnered with Advocaid to screen spoken word pieces by the women, display drawings and watch ex prisoners perform short dramas of their experiences.
